One guy I shared it with is a regular I had at my first Barista gig in 1993; coffee and wine guy for ages, developed palate and what not. No comments from him, just a knowing nod.

The other is a Canadian, acustomed to good coffee in Toronto, uses a press at home. I gave him a 8 oz press of the Reserve, for the price of a regular cup. All he said was he loved it. I also sold him one of the last pounds of Indido Misty Valley, when all the blogs in North America were lamenting it’s passing. I told him he probably had one of the last 3 pounds on the continent, or at least east of the Mississippi. He said he had never had those flavors in a coffee in his life. I think his hair was up on end.

Unfortunately I was only seeded about 2oz of material so I got to have about two cups worth. I had it a day after born on and a week after that. I did notice it seemed to be slightly brighter on my return with a more saucy-ness. It was a nice few moments though.

I’d like to try a bag of Howells HueHue, he’s pushing the pricing envelope at 49.99 as well. The tiers of coffee specialty are definitely being etched out now.

Thats awesome that you got a few more ears due to it Phil. What were they resonating off of?

You got some interesting flavor notes that I can’t say I caught, like the nuts. But as I drank it day by day, this was one coffee that I could never really peg down. It seemed like it was always in flux, something new everyday. It was always bright and shparp and fruity, but there were new levels revealed all the time. See if you don’t think so after you get to the bottom of your bag. It was a sad day when I had my last cup, but I got to turn on a couple of regulars at the shop.
